WEBINAR 1: SAFE Disease Model—IBD Model
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) describes conditions characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. The two most common inflammatory bowel diseases are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The exact cause of IBD is unknown, but IBD is the result of a weakened immune system. Possible causes are: 1. The immune system responds incorrectly to environmental triggers, such as a virus or bacteria, which causes inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. 2. There also appears to be a genetic component. Someone with a family history of IBD is more likely to develop this inappropriate immune response.
Dr. Tian explains us with the different 5 types of models which are popular in IBD research and their applications. SAFE has rich experience on IBD model establishment and application, SAFE has done more 20 IBD cases. Welcome to contact us to know more about animal models.
